Director

As a Director, your primary responsibility will be to direct the efforts of a group of 12-15 scientists in the advancement of drug targets from pre-exploratory through development. In this role, you will provide scientific oversight and help to set the strategic direction of the group by working with the Senior Director and VP of the department. You will be responsible for the supervision and development of the scientific staff, with an emphasis on their career development. You will also serve as the liaison between Discovery, Translational medicine and early clinical development to ensure the effective and timely development of therapeutics.The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in biochemistry, biology, physiology, or a related discipline and 10 - 15 years of post-graduate experience with preference given to those candidates having significant experience in the area of pharmaceutical drug discovery. Previous experience in the area of metabolic diseases is highly desired. In addition 5 years of responsible management experience developing and mentoring scientific staff is required.
