The First Vice President, Counsel position will report to the SVP and Senior Counsel for Card Services. The successful candidate will work with minimal supervision in the group's highly dynamic, progressive and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidates will have the following qualifications: A Juris Doctor degree along with at least 10 years of work experience in practice area(s) specific to the position, e.g. corporate/mergers and acquisitions/securities; litigation; business transactions; real estate; employment law; intellectual property; foreclosures/bankruptcy.
Experience in credit card lending, including a significant knowledge of the consumer statutes and regulations governing credit card lending (e.g., Truth in Lending Act, Regulation Z, Regulation B, the Fair Credit Reporting Act and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act).
Comprehensive understanding of the full life-cycle process of credit card lending.
Member of Washington, California and/or Florida State Bar Associations preferred.
