General Counsel The General Counsel is the primary legal adviser for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas, senior management and other persons employed within the executive staff either personally or through a staff of attorneys and outside legal specialists. This involves providing legal advice in areas of signifi- cant company-wide impact. You will provide direct legal advice, especially in consultation regarding corporate strategies, evaluation of new ventures, major litigation and business operations affected by many areas of federal and state la w QUALIFICATIONS: Education: J.D. from an accredited law school. Currently admitted in Kansas or ability to qualify for admission to practice law in Kansas . Experience: Legal experience in health care financing and insurance issues and concepts and general corporate law. Previous experience managing employees is preferred.
