Traffic Manager

Northwest Chicago suburb manufacturing company is looking for a traffic manager to direct the shipping, receiving and warehousing of products and materials, manage the transportation of all goods and ensure compliance with appropriate laws and regulations regarding transportation of goods. Under administrative direction this position will:
Formulate, direct and participate in development and implementation of goals and objectives for the Traffic Departments.Supervise transportation methods for the shipping and receiving departments.Establish procedures and processes and provide direction to supervisory staff to ensure attainment of company goals for finished goods warehousing, accuracy and efficiency to ensure timely throughput and reduce waste. Analyze space requirements for management review.Negotiate freight rates on inbound and outbound shipments for domestic and international commerce. Select and review carriers for quality and service.Plan and assign work to clerks and dock material handlers to ensure the processing and shipping orders with a minimum of delay.Contact various transportation companies to requisition proper vehicles for shipments.Supervise the processing of claims and tracers and the checking of freight bills.Maintain proper checking, identifying, and recording of all parts and raw stores received from outside sources on purchase orders.Requisition necessary supplies and materials required for departmental operations.Develop a forklift truck safety training program; provide procedures, training and testing materials.Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:
3 – 5 Years Experience in a business requiring international transportation.Experience in shipping and receiving involving Mexico and China would be particularly beneficial.Bachelors degree desired.Benefits Package:
