Replenishment Buyer

The Replenishment Buyer is responsible for negotiating the purchase of quality products at competitive prices, and maintaining adequate inventories to meet customer demand. Adhering to the 6 points of understanding, this role will function as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve TPC’s internal and external customers and to accomplish the Balanced Scorecard goals.
•Maintain product costing and pricing and ensure accurate purchase orders.
•Interact with customers and vendors in a friendly, timely and quality manner; ensures customers' and vendors' questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner.
•Consult with vendors regarding current orders and new products.
•Initiate orders, schedule deliveries and process related paperwork and documentation.
•Support and develop the Purchasing Department's role in service to the rest of TPC.
•Research, create and monitor special orders.
•Manage overstocked inventory.
•Maintain all files, including correspondence, purchase order confirmations and computer reports.
•Place purchase orders with brokers and manufacturers.
•Complete special projects as defined by the Category Manager, Purchasing Development Manager, or Vice President of Purchasing.
•Increase knowledge of the food industry and relates this information to purchasing decisions.
•Attend training and meetings, as required.
•Engage in activities and professional memberships designed to improve skill and knowledge.
REQUIREMENTS
Requires a minimum of one year of related food service experience.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Ability to maintain a high level of visual attention and mental concentration for significant periods of time as required by preparing and analyzing data, figures, computer terminals, etc.
Ability to manipulate necessary office equipment, computer software, hardware and equipment.
Ability to perform the following physical activities: reaching, fingering, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.
The majority of the work occurs within an internal office environment.
Occasional work will occur in a setting where temperatures may vary.
Work does require exposure to dangerous equipment or devices where safety initiatives are required.
Work is classified as light with the requirements of exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
