Purchasing Buyer / Supervisor

Our client, a nationally recognized manufacturer, seeks a Buyer / Purchasing Supervisor to join their engineering team in Des Moines. Our client has been making quality consumer products for over a 1/2 century now and they continue to see their business grow year after year. This is an exciting opportunity to work for a great company in a great city.


Responsibilities include:
Inventory control and purchasing
Timely procurement of all products assigned
Maintaining proper inventory levels
Negotiating the lowest total cost for assigned products
Insuring proper logistics
Maintaining good relationships with suppliers
Cultivating professional relationships at all levels within the organization
Working MRP and Lean Manufacturing
Supervise two other buyers REQUIREMENTS
Qualified candidates will have a four year college degree, or equivalent experience, and 2+ years experience as a buyer. Experience with the purchasing of wood, metal, vinyl, and plastic products is highly desirable. Supervisory experience and CPM and/or CPIM certifications desirable.
