Production Planner/Scheduler

Position: Production Planner/Scheduler Shift: First Shift
Reports to: Operations Manager Status: Exempt/Salaried

Job Summary:
Works directly with the production departments to prepare the production plan based upon available forecast requirements, inventory requirements, and management expectations. Key interface between the manufacturing/operations, purchasing and warehousing functions to determine the most efficient production plan to achieve finished goods results. Ensures that finished goods are maintained at levels specified by management.

Essential Job Functions:
1.)Prepare the production plan based upon forecast requirements, promotional requirements and company inventory guidelines.
2.)Create finite line schedules that support operational goals.
3.)Monitor and adjust production plans based on plant performance.
4.)Ensure that Material Requirements Planning (MRP) is maintained and updated accordingly.
5.)Ensure that the desired Material Requirements Plan quantities are properly communicated to purchasing. Ensure that components and services are available in a timely manner for production.
6.)Develop a schedule that utilizes labor, materials, and resources in an efficient and cost conscious manner.
7.)Maintain a flow of product through the operation to balance the needs of production and distribution.
8.)Coordinate with appropriate manufacturing personnel and resolve problems related to the production schedule such as shortage status, rejection, scrap and rework, etc.
9.)Analyze material shortages, review order progress, and coordinate and adjust schedules accordingly.
10.)Tracks and communicates key metrics to help evaluate and improve production operations at the plant. Includes: Track actual production vs. planned production, reviews daily production and exception reports to update production schedules. Develops new models to analyze product flow.
11.)Participates in operations meetings to review plant schedules, capacity and performance and develop strategies/methods to reduce machine down time.
12.)Performs all system transactions in a timely, accurate manner to maintain system integrity and fill rate accuracy.
13.)Will perform other duties, as assigned.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to walk, stoop, bend, kneel, and crouch. May also be required to lift product or manufacturing materials up to fifty (50) pounds.
REQUIREMENTS
·BA/BS degree and five (5) years related planning/scheduling experience are required: OR CPIM, CIRM, CPM certification.
·Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
·MRP/ERP system experience. Vantage experience a plus.
·Strong communication, organizational, problem solving and analytical skills.
·Bi Lingual in Spanish.
