Cargill Salt produces, packages and ships salt for the following six major market segment applications: agricultural, food, water conditioning, industrial, chemical and packaged ice control. Our Salt Business Unit is looking for a Product Line Analyst.
**Location is open to any of our 19 Salt facilities in the U.S. (which includes Baltimore, MD, Akron, OH. Tampa, FL, Hutchinson, KS, Wichita, KS and St. Clair, MI).
Position Overview:
This position analyzes, monitors and plans the overall production and inventory required to service our customer and ensure margin optimization. They manage the overall supply chain plan for a specific product line. In addition, they analyze inventory levels and positioning to optimally meet sales forecasts.
Principle Accountabilities:
40% - Plans, monitors and manages inventory for all end customer products within their product line - includes produced and purchases items. Manages the replenishment, inventory accuracy and stock rotation of our contracted facilities to maintain adequate safety stock levels.
30% - Maintains Advanced Planning tools, analyzes strategic planning reports and executes the product plan across our facilities.
20% - Communicates functional objectives, production plans and priorities to our facility schedulers. Handles discrepancies in production to plan and inventory to plan.
10% - Analyzes, monitors and communicates position risk to maximize target margin across the business unit.
REQUIREMENTS
Required
Associates Degree or Equivalent Experience
Minimum 2 years Production and Inventory Planning experience
Ability to travel 25% of time (For the first 3 months, travel will be up to 75%)
Experience and knowledge of Distribution and Manufacturing systems
Experience and knowledge of Advanced Planning tools and concepts
Experience and knowledge of Data Warehouse Query tools
Proven skills in sharing information and expertise with peers and management
Strong verbal communication skills
Ability to demonstrate strong team behaviors and team working skills
Ability to work independently or on a team
Strong analytical and computer skills
Strong problem solving skills
Ability to understand Supply Chain constraints and apply concepts to an overall plan
