Merchandise Manager

Armstrong Garden Centers, Inc., a leader in the industry, is seeking a Merchandise Manager to oversee the buying operations for the retail division. This position directly oversees three buyers and reports to the Executive Vice President and General Manager. Position responsibilities are outlined as follows:

Identify new customer trends and buying habits
Manage the import and design process
Oversee and manage inventory for all 36 retail locations
Develop and implement P&L strategies
Monitor and report on inventory/P&L results
Develop entrance, exit and longevity strategies for new products
Coordinate products and inventory with marketing and visual display manager
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors and internal/external customers

Additionally, this position is responsible for coordinating with the new product committee on new items and serves as an active participant on the advertising committee. The ideal candidate is an aggressive, forward thinking team member, who succeeds in a fast-paced environment. This position requires a high level of communication with colleagues, consumers, and vendors.

REQUIREMENTS


Experience and Skills:

· 7-10 years of industry related buying/merchandising experience

· 3-5 years of management experience

· Advertising, marketing and visual display experience

· Bachelors degree in a business (preferred)

Proficient in Microsoft Office
