Loss Prevention Specialist

PURPOSE: Responsible for the review and analysis of reports designed to detect and prevent losses to the Association. Assists branches with issues relating to loss prevention.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Reviews possible fraudulent deposited items reflected in the Primary Payments report.

2. Based on the analysis of the Primary Payments report, places extended holds to accounts and notify the customer/branch via mail.

3. Reviews WJM Early Warning Fraud Detection System reports and makes recommendations to branches and regional managers.

4. Reviews ChexSystems new account reports and makes recommendations to branches and regional managers.

5. Reviews additional loss prevention type reports as they are implemented by the Association.

6. Make recommendations as needed regarding necessary maintenance and/or enhancements of these systems.

7. At the direction of the Director of Security provides written and/or oral reports to management.

8. Coordinates and documents loss prevention training.Job Requirements
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs special assignments and projects, as deemed appropriate by the Director of Security and performs all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
H.S. Education
Minimum 3 years-financial institution experience.
Customer Service Supervisor experience preferred.
1 Year Loss Prevention experience preferred.
