Inventory Forecast Planner

The Valspar Corporation, global leader in the paint and coatings industry with $3 billion in revenue, has an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Architectural Business Group, a division of Valspar, as a Inventory Forecast Planner (also known as a Customer Forecast/Logistics Planner) at our Minneapolis, MN facility. This position will be responsible for the distribution planning process, forecasting of specific product lines, and inventory management. RESPONSIBLITIES:
Coordinate new product introductions and consolidationsWork with sales group and customers to improve communication and the forecasting/inventory management processAssist in team development in forecasting and quality of inventory processDevelop collaborative initiatives (CPFR, Co-managed & VMI)Utilize customer POS data and systems to integrate the information into our plansProvide analysis and information to sales and operations in relation to sales trends and inventory positions
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree required2-3 years relevant experiencePrior forecasting or production planning experience in a manufacturing environmentAPIC certification a plusStrong computer skills (Microsoft Word & Excel; Manugistics, and Oracle)Strong oral/written communication skills
