As a Chemical Stockroom Clerk, you will check chemicals and supplies received from outside suppliers against purchase orders, and will deliver all items received to researchers. You will check new P.O.s against existing stock before orders are placed. You will maintain up-to-date records of incoming and dispensed chemicals via computer barcode system, and will classify and package dangerous goods for shipment to other Wyeth sites and outside collaborators. You will dispense, restock, and maintain inventory of routinely carried reagents and supplies in the stockroom and other assigned areas. You will perform a physical inventory audit on chemicals in all laboratories, and will process all unwanted chemicals from the laboratories for restocking or disposal. You will maintain accurate record keeping on all related paperwork (purchase orders, inventory reports, requisitions, receiving reports, shippers' declarations). You will ensure work areas are maintained, and work is conducted in compliance with Wyeth Research safety rules. Safety training classes will be attended as required. You will perform all other miscellaneous duties as assigned (Spill Team participation, technical training, back-up for other Laboratory Services functions, periodic regulatory audits).

This position requires a High School diploma or equivalent - some coursework in Chemistry and/or Computer applications would be desirable. Must have 6 months to 1 year of industrial or pharmaceutical stockroom experience. Must have accurate typing skills (30 wpm), organizational skills, and detail oriented skills. The ability to operate a computer terminal or PC and process knowledge of various databases for inventory control requirements is required. Familiarity with chemical classifications, terminology, and metric conversions is necessary. Must have excellent customer service skills, and the ability to interact with various Wyeth personnel and outside vendors. Dangerous Goods shipping training (IATA, DOT) and Spill Team Training (as prescribed by EHS) is required - may be obtained upon hire.
