Distribution/Warehouse Supervisor

Organization: Ideal Industries, Inc. - A privately held global corporation founded in 1915 and headquartered in Sycamore, IL. Ideal manufactures tools and diagnostic instruments used in the electrical, data communications, and telecommunications industries.Key Accountabilities/ Job Description:
-Manage warehouse operations and solicit / generate ideas on process improvement.
-Lead in the development & training of Distribution Center systems, processes, and procedures.
-Coordinate all outbound parcel, LTL carriers and inventory management.
-Provide support for Customer service as necessary with respect to. shipping/receiving inquiries.
-Evaluate warehousing production, procedures, and design new methods of efficiency in warehousing and docks, minimizing costs, responsible for the most effective utilization of workspace and labor.
-Manage the execution of warehouse and distribution processes. Coordinate people & resources in an efficient and effective way to accomplish goals.
-Schedule, motivate, enforce company policies, discipline, and lead a team of 20+ warehouse personnel.
-Drive the team to achieve performance objectives and driving productivity improvement efforts.
-Actively support company safety initiatives. Drive corrective actions and assist in incident investigations.
Requirements
-Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or Business.-4-6 years Supply Chain/Operations management experience to include inventory control and material handling required.
-Strong interpersonal and management skills.
-Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS); experience with WMS implementation is a plus, as is knowledge of supply chain and/or inventory planning.
-APICS Certification and knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma Practices a plus.
