Distribution Supervisor

Job Purpose (a brief summary of responsibilities):
To oversee and supervise the daily operations within the department (pick, pack, ship, custom kitting) to ensure timely, efficient and accurate processing of customer orders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Manage staff to meet desired results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, training, coaching, counseling and appraising job results. *

2. Maintain associate staffing and scheduling to meet requirements of distribution center.*

3. Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures that lend to accomplishing departmental goals. *

4. Monitor associate attendance and administer progressive discipline as needed.

5. Maintain a safe and secure work environment. *

6. Recruit, train and develop associates. *

7. Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure that company and team goals are met.

8. Ensure quality systems are adhered by maintaining ISO standards. *

9. Contributes to achieving financial objectives. *

10. Other duties as assigned. *
REQUIREMENTS
ob Specifications:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (i.e. minimum education, years of experience, etc)

1. Prefer BS/BA degree, or some college and supply chain management equivalent experience.

2. 2+ years supervisory experience in a distribution center.

3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

4. Collaboration skills to build relationships.

5. Strong customer service skills with internal and external customers.

6. Good analytical skills and strong problem resolution skills.

7. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks.

8. Strong planning and organization skills.

9.Intermediate to advanced Word and Excel computer skills.

STRENGTH: LIFTING boxes 5-25 lbs 15-40% time - max 25 lbs 15% time, CARRYING boxes 5-25 ft 5-25 lbs 15-40% time - max 25lbs 15% time, PUSHING/PULLING cart 25-50 lbs 15% time 10-20 ft. - max 50 lbs 10% time, MOBILITY: SITTING in an office chair: 60% maximum time - 10% minimum time, STANDING: 20% maximum time - 10% minimum time, WALKING 40% time, 5-25 ft at normal speed. SENSORY PERCEPTION: HEARING/TALKING warehouse noise level, answering questions, give instructions, VISION 100% visibility required 100% of the time, READING must be able to read email, mail, written instructions, routers, orders and shipping instructions, WRITING. WORK ENVIRONMENT: INSIDE WORK inside warehouse, EQUIPMENT HANDLING daily computer, postage machine, lift truck, TRAVELING by car to/from Chicago and Niles facilities 1 times a week for 4 hours.
