Director, Loss Prevention

Purpose of Job:

Directs the development, execution and oversight of loss prevention policies, strategies, plans and programs from YRI, in line with Yum! standards.

Job Functions:

1.Develop, execute and implement loss prevention policies, strategies, plans and programs to increase profitability and reduce incidents that erode profits within YRI, in line with Yum! standards.
2.Direct security activities for all company RSCs and restaurants. Includes buildings, equipment and crime prevention.
3.Direct executive protection activities, including risk assessment, personal protection, and protest group actions. Consults and provides briefing as required e.g. Expats.
4.Direct due diligence around new business partners including franchisees. Undertakes due diligence activities as appropriate.
5.Direct and manages Yum! business traveler security and safety activities including global travel tracker program.
6.Direct international hotline activities including Sarbanes Oxley notifications
7.Direct and/or undertakes investigations around all loss prevention issues. Report results and recommended action to senior YRI management including Chief People Officer YRI and VP Asset Management Yum!
8.Participates in crisis management resolution around all loss prevention issues.
9.Provides support to franchisees through BMU/FBU leaders. Works directly with franchisees as required.
10.Develop and foster international contracts in order to grow networks and resources for use in resolving international issues.
11.Anticipate how situations internationally could adversely affect YRI people and businesses and take the necessary actions to mitigate the possible negative consequences. In a consistently changing world environment, maintain an in-depth understanding of world events.
12.Undertake project management on key loss prevention initiatives with global applications as required.

People Leadership:

DIRECT REPORTS:

Position provides functional leadership to BMU Loss Prevention Managers and others with BMU loss prevention responsibilities.
Position calls upon two Yum LPMs for work in Canada.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

1.YRI CPO and YRI Senior Leadership Team
2.Yum VP Asset Protection and Yum Asset Protection Team
3.BMU Senior Executive Leaders including LPMs, HRDs, other
4.YRI Staffing Dallas RSC
5.YRI Franchise partners
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
Degree level qualification and Certified Protection Professional designation essential. Postgraduate qualification preferred.

EXPERIENCE (and other qualifications):
Minimum 15 years overall experience with at least 10 years in loss prevention activities with 3 years at more senior level in corporate environment.
Loss prevention experience must include asset security, executive protection, background investigation, traveler security, crisis management, investigation, legal principles and proprietary information protection.
Experience with retail, service and/or multi outlet industry preferred
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships and team environment
Excellent communication skills with ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels by telephone, in writing or in person.
Able to think and act quickly and effectively under pressure
A sensitivity to and awareness of various cultures and the ability to be successful globally
Previous experience with multi national preferred (US based highly regarded)
Must be relocatable within US
