Buyer/Planner

Buyer/Planner, $55K to $65K, Rosemont, IL:

Key Responsibilities
·Develop, implement and maintain kanban systems for all unit manufacturing cells and insure inventory accuracy
·Work with Sales/Customer Service team to track and understand customer requirements
·Create a production schedule, which supports the customer’s requirements
·Drive Engineering, Production, Kanban Coordinators and Purchasing to meet the schedule
·Track progress and results for communication to the customer through Customer Service/Sales
·Analyze data in order to develop, implement and improve systems for process improvements
·Improve/maintain kanban systems
·Lower internal and external component lead-times
·Decrease stock-outs
·Lower the product-to-customer lead-time
·Daily procurement responsibilities as required
·Day-to-day and medium term supplier management, including:
-schedule releases to ensure timely supply of goods and/or services
-expedite spot buys
-facilitate root cause problem resolution
·Work with purchasing team to develop supply base, including:
·source/re-source components and/or services, locally if possible
·Requisite involvement in new product development/component sourcing
·Reduce number of suppliers to ensure 100% quality & delivery and best total
REQUIREMENTS
Experience (rank ordered)
·Minimum of 3-5 experience in production/material planning/master scheduling
·Experience in JIT/Kanban environment & cellular manufacturing
·Practical knowledge of purchasing with proven negotiating skills
·Good knowledge of manufacturing & assembly processes
·Strong PC literacy with spreadsheets and word processing
·Excellent communications skills (written & verbal)
·Basic understanding of engineering drawings

Education
Bachelor’s Degree in related field
