Job Description:
Worldsource, a division of AIG, is currently seeking an Underwriting Technician in Downtown Manhattan.
The Underwriting Technician will support the Underwriters with responsibilities to include:
Assist in the preliminary underwriting screening process
Enter submission information into systems
Prepare/complete quote submission package for processing unit
Handle broker servicing issues and general inquiries
Prepare underwriting "working" file for new submissions
Solicit, and follow-up for, required information from brokers
Research local underwriting files and appropriate systems to respond to crits and collection issues, as well as to audit inquiries
Provide administrative support for the department including: word processing; creating spreadsheets and presentation material and reports; maintaining diaries; filing; answering phones; opening, sorting, & distributing mail; photocopying; and faxing.
What We Require:
BS/BA desired
Prior insurance experience preferred
Strong organization and time management skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize
Detail oriented
Must be dedicated, team-oriented and willing to take on extra tasks.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Proficient in the use of PC’s, including utilizing management information systems, Microsoft Office (strong emphasis on Word & Excel), Internet navigation, and data entry
