SENIOR CLAIMS SPECIALIST – WORKER’S COMPENSATION INSURANCE

Columbus, Ohio – September 2006

Our Client is a dynamic insurance organization with a long history of dedicated service to policyholders. This insurance Group is between the top 100 property and casualty insurance organizations with more than $2.0 billion in assets.

Their insurance products include a wide range of commercial coverage’s such as homeowners, auto insurance and various specialized markets

They are looking for a seasoned SENIOR WORKER’S COMPENSATION SPECIALIST for their Columbus, Ohio branch office. The ideal person has at least 5 – 7 years WORKER’S COMP claims adjusting expertise and familiarity with the Illinois jurisdiction. Additional claims background - with the ability to handle other lines of claims adjusting - is a plus.

Job Summary

Responsible for investigating and adjusting Worker’s Comp claims of highly complex nature. In the Chicago, Illinois area.

Duties include handling all multiple lines claims of a complex and serious nature and matters requiring broad technical claims knowledge. Also investigate and adjust Lost-time Worker’s Comp claims, including catastrophic injuries. It’s required to have numerous direct contacts with attorneys concerning dealing with claims processes, review court decisions, laws and coverage interpretations.

Ability to work on an independent basis with little supervision, and organize settlement of claims within assigned authority.

An accomplished knowledge of the insurance industry is helpful. The company expects a well-organized and professional demeanor for personal contact with insured’s, claimants, and attorneys.

LIMITED travel, since most claims handled by phone for the Illinois jurisdiction. REQUIREMENTS


Requirements


Four-year degree or equivalent experience. Completion of IIA Insurance series

Need at least 5 - 7 years WORKER’S COMP experience, preferably with an insurance carrier; 3-4 claims adjusting background.

Ability to handle other lines of claims adjusting is a plus (do not need multi-line experience).

Superior writing skills for letter and reports

Professional and results-oriented presentation style

Salary
