Sr Underwriting Assistant

Supports the underwriters with risk evaluation and pricing for existing and new business by performing various pre-underwriting activities, such as reviewing requests for proposals (RFPs), gathering data (exposures, credit information, claims history, payroll, fleet lists, etc.), identifying rates for coverage options, and entering information into databases. Sets up account services with other departments (billing, claims, etc.) after the policy is sold. Uses advanced knowledge and skills to handle the most complex account work, solve problems, and provide technical support, training and leadership to others.
REQUIREMENTS
Advanced knowledge of property and/or casualty insurance coverages, rating procedures, rating plans and systems/workflow; effective written and interpersonal skills needed for interaction with representatives from other departments, particularly Sales and Production, and to provide guidance and technical direction to others; demonstrated ability to enter and retrieve information from various applications; as normally acquired through at least five years of experience.
