For more information, visit http://www.genworth.com.Drafts contract language (group policies, certificates, plan documents) for the most complex cases that is legally correct and in compliance with state and federal legislation
Responsible for the entire process of drafting, modifying and issuing complex certificates to our customers accurately and within required timeframes
Researches and drafts policies/certificates and other legal information in connection with litigation or claim disputes
Independently recommends solutions to complex contract problems using available resources
Responsible for case specific filings of non-standard complex contract language and/or non-traditional group entities to state insurance departments in order to obtain regulatory approval
Serve as point of contact for all certificate/contract questions from field offices
Work effectively with Sales, Underwriting, Signature Service, Compliance, Legal and other Operations departments/associates
Work on special projects as required
Backs up manager during absencesBasic Qualifications:
Strong skills and experience in comprehending, analyzing, comparing and retaining technical information
2 years experience and demonstrated strong skills in independently drafting legally correct contract language
Ability and successful experience in training and conveying technical material; making independent decisions; analyzing problems and recommending solutions
Strong PC proficiency, especially Microsoft office
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills to communicate decisions and interact effectively with customers, home office & field staff and state insurance department regulators
Ability to recognize when a filing to a state insurance department is necessary and to independently negotiate and obtain approvals of complex contract language and/or non-traditional group entities from regulators
Excellent organizational skills for managing/prioritizing own work in response to team needs
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Ability to complete large volumes of technical work within departmental time constraints
Ability to change priorities on short notice while maintaining current workload
Training in the analysis and drafting of group health insurance contract
Prior successful experience working with insurance contracts and compliance with state and federal legislationsPreferred Candidate Qualifications:
In-depth knowledge/experience with Microsoft Word
Strong knowledge of EBG Operations, systems and workflows
Strong contract/compliance background
College degree or equivalent work experience
Detailed knowledge of contract law, legislation, group operations and workflows, group insurance products and non-traditional group entities
