Small Business Underwriter, Columbus OH

Westfield Specialty Brokerage Services is looking for a Small Business Underwriter who is determined to excel in a fast-paced work environment. Your previous underwriting experience will give you the ability to determine operations, rate, quote, and bind program business. Having excellent analytical abilities will assist you in reviewing individual applications and renewal business that fall within underwriting guidelines. Excellent communication skills are a must when corresponding with retail agents, carriers, and other personnel to resolve coverage and underwriting inquiries. You will also be responsible for tracking hit ratios and production results in your assigned territories while maintaining an operating knowledge of carrier coverage forms, eligibility requirements, and program details.
REQUIREMENTS


For a successful career as a Small Business Underwriter, you will need five years of Commercial Lines experience and a valid Property-Casualty agent license. However, we will consider candidates who are able to obtain their license within 60 days of employment.


Additional skills to aid you in achieving career goals include previous experience in surplus lines underwriting, having the ability to handle a high account volume, multiple lines experience, and strong customer service skills.
