REQUIREMENTS
New Jersey property and casualty license is highly
preferred. Experience in standard underwriting practices and
procedures. Must possess the ability to work independently, carry
out assignments to completion within the parameters of instructions
given, prescribed routines and standard accepted underwriting
practices. Good oral and written skills as well as strong analytical
and interpersonal skills. Must be detail oriented. Will review
applications for insurance coverage, reports from loss control
consultants and other information to determine if application is
acceptable for the programs available in the excess/wholesale market.
Evaluate the experience of a risk against the class of business under
review as well as loss potential due to catastrophe, severity and/or
frequency. May rate policies or check previously rated policies for
proper rating. Will prepare quotations for agents, answer questions
from agents, policy holder or prospects, assist agents with comments
or questions about applications and the likelihood of acceptance by
the company and review requests for cancellation, endorsements, etc.
