REQUIREMENTS
Must have Property and Casualty insurance experience.
Minimum of 3-5 years experience underwriting umbrella. College
degree or equivalent preferred. Excellent problem solving/decision
making skills with the ability to influence others is required.
Strong verbal, written, organizational and time management skills
along with solid customer service and relationship building skills
needed. Proficiency in Microsoft software applications necessary.
Will determine the degree of risk involved and the proper premium for
acceptable risks. Accept risks that meet underwriting standards and
declines those which do not and authorizes reinsurance within the
assigned scope of authority. Responsible for achieving premium, loss
ratio and service goals as assigned. Assist in developing annual
business plan and analyze and evaluate results for assigned
producers. Keep abreast of market trends, competition philosophy,
products and distribution systems. Review and evaluate profit,
volume and service results for assigned producers. Attain premium,
loss ration and service goals as assigned. Assist marketing manager
in selling and promoting company products and programs to assigned
producers in accordance with the strategic business plan. Assist in
training underwriters, trainees, underwriting assistants and clerks
in technical aspects of job.
