Manager, Internal Communications

Position Summary:

Manages employee communications programs and activities to drive employee education and support the company's culture objectives. Plans and executes day-to-day employee communications as well as that for major announcements and initiatives. Oversees company's community relations program, including all associated employee and external community partner communications.



Position Responsibilities:

Develop and implement strategic internal communications plans to drive department's and company's business objectives.

Provide counsel to internal clients on employee communications matters and work closely with management to identify opportunities to support business needs.

Work closely with human resources to educate employees on company benefits.

Develop/review/edit messages and presentations for employee audiences.

  Coordinate face-to-face and virtual employee meetings at multiple U.S. locations.

Leverage current communications vehicles - email, employee meetings, Web casts, Intranet, etc. - and identify new channels to deliver the company's messages to employees.

Post content on the Intranet (HTML), prepare PowerPoint presentations, and manage development of videos and other communications vehicles to reach internal stakeholders.

Support employee communications needs around issues and crises.

Manage the company's community relations activities, including charitable giving, matching gifts, and the Annual Charitable Giving Campaign.

Manage external vendors, professional staff and budget. REQUIREMENTS


Position Requirements:

BA or BS degree in communications or related field.

6-8 years' experience in internal communications.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and knowledge of AP style.

Ability to work with all levels of the organization.

Excellent project management skills and ability to balance multiple projects and demands.

Strong individual performer and team player.

Ability to translate strategy into meaningful communications.

A self-starter with a keen attention to detail and ability to excel in a fast-paced and deadline-driven work environment.

Strong business acumen.

Experience with a global, financial services company preferred.

Experience with employee benefits communications preferred.
