Insurance Verification Manager, Patient Access Dept

Administrative responsibility for all activity in the Insurance Verification unit including personnel, daily operations, short and long range planning, and effective performance improvement innovation. Demonstrates effective leadership and communication skills. Manages day-to-day operations to sustain very high levels of customer service and financial outcomes related to securing accurate, complete, and timely information, and ensuring all regulatory and contractual obligations are fulfilled. This role encompasses the direction, planning, leading, and coordination of the Insurance Verification team.

Bachelor Degree, or equivalent years of management experience. Eight to ten years of management experience in a healthcare setting. Revenue Cycle management preferred.

Must have in-depth knowledge of Insurance Verification processes (e.g., verification, liability identification), and other detailed payer knowledge. Familiarity with LastWord, ONTRAC, OMNI, and online verification and registration systems preferred. Strong organizational skills are a necessity. Ability to work under stressful situations in a fast changing health care environment. Ability to prioritize and delegate in response to changing demands. Exhibits change management skills required to lead the Insurance Verification unit through continual, pervasive, and system-focused changes required to drive results. Able to help staff and supervisors transition effectively without stalling progress. Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, are essential. Must have ability to design, analyze, and manage using productivity and performance tools. Ability to independently work problem accounts requiring manager-level involvement to secure resolution of complex accounts. Demonstrates strong ownership for results. Must be innovative to facilitate continuous performance improvement activities.
