Health Claims Examiner

The AFTRA Health Fund provides performers and their families with health benefits and life insurance. It was the first such fund for any of the performing arts and resulted from collective bargaining agreements between the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and industry producers. The AFTRA Health Fund is an independent organization, not a Union subsidiary, agency or department. Its main office is located in New York City and a satellite office is located in Los Angeles.

The New York office is seeking a Health Claims Examiner to join our Claims Department. This position is responsible for reviewing, processing and paying medical claims.
REQUIREMENTS
REQUIREMENTS
The qualified candidate must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience reviewing, processing and paying medical claims; Experience processing claims through RDE, EDI and automatic claims adjutication; knowledge of ICD-9 and HCIA Annotated codes; must understand medical terminology; strong communications and analytical skills is a plus; self motivated and self starter.
