For more information, visit http://www.genworth.com.Working in the Home Office in Windsor, CT, the Group Underwriter is responsible for working directly with group sales representatives and producers to meet new business production goals and renew and retain the in-force block of business. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Partnering with 4 to 5 group sales reps in satellite sales offices to generate approximately $6.0MM - $7.0MM in new business premiums and renew 700 - 750 cases per year.Establishing premium levels that are adequate to cover the risk and profitability objectives for all product lines in order for the business to meet its annual profitability objectives.Ensuring that new and renewal business is underwritten consistent with state and federal legislation.Products include life, health, disability and dental.Basic Candidate Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in insurance, mathematics, or a business-related field.
3 to 5 years of group underwriting experience.
Knowledge of group insurance benefit products.
Superior interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
Strong PC skills.
Proven technical aptitude.Preferred Candidate Qualifications:
MBA.
Experience working with a field sales organization remotely.
Strong negotiation skills.
