Position Title: E&S Underwriter With Marketing II - Glendale

Job Summary:
We are looking for a strong casualty production underwriter to join our E&S department (Steadfast) in Glendale, CA.

You will be responsible for the underwriting and marketing of individual accounts within the assigned territory, selecting and pricing risks in a manner that supports the achievement of growth and profit objectives.

The types of accounts we currently service are manufactures and distributors, real estate (both commercial and habitational), medical products and other specialty segments. This branch office services the Western States – some travel required.

Job Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent

4 or more years of related experience.

1. Demonstrated technical knowledge and skills reflective of progression of positions of increasing responsibility.
2. Excellent communication skills.
3. In-depth knowledge of line/s of business and the legal and regulatory guidelines.
4. Solid knowledge of processing methods and workflow procedures, and basic knowledge of insurance underwriting and regulations for assigned territories.
5. Strong negotiation skills.
6. Ability to effectively assess risk.
7. Strong knowledge of underwriting philosophy, techniques, national/local filing, regulations and guidelines.
8. Knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business.9. Ability to multi-task.
10. Must be able to function effectively in team environment.
11. PC literate.
