Director of Multicultural Marketing (Asian emphasis)

This position is located at the home office of American General Life and Accident Insurance Company in Nashville, TN. It reports to Senior Management in marketing, and requires day-to-day interaction with home-office marketing managers and regional sales vice presidents to develop Multicultural market growth plans and execute event marketing, ethnic advertising, in-culture marketing collateral and field management recruiting. Relocation assistance is available. Essential functions include: • Research market demographics, identify growth opportunities, and formulate business plans for execution. • Identify and analyze unique needs of producers and managers who specialize in serving the life, accident and health insurance needs of Asian, Hispanic and other Multicultural communities. • Manage ethnic media relations including campaign creation, implementation and measurement. • Coordinate the development of in-language and in-culture marketing collateral to serve the needs of Asian, Hispanic and other communities. • Research, identify, prioritize and implement community events in selected markets for branding and recruiting purposes. • Determine actions that should be implemented to improve performance, and practical measures of cost/benefit to organization and participants.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements include: • College degree with a minimum 5 - 7 years work experience specialized in Multicultural Marketing in the U.S. • Extensive experience in implementing ethnic advertising and community events. • Strong understanding of the process to manufacture in-language and in-culture marketing materials. • Must have excellent oral, reading and writing English language abilities. Must have the ability to speak fluently and to read and write in Chinese(Mandarin or Cantonese). Experience in insurance, banking or the financial services industry is preferred. • Domestic travel and the ability to work irregular hours. • U.S. citizen or permanent resident with a valid driver’s license. • A minimum of three references.
