Director, Medical Underwriting Standards

This position will provide additional medical support for reinsurance underwriting and research. This includes the review and assessment of medical risk as directed by the Chief Medical Officer. The individual will also assist Underwriters in decision-making on referred cases.

Other areas of responsibility include engaging in clinical research potentially impacting the industry and Generali USA's impairment guidelines and identifying areas that may need updating and proposing changes to Generali USA's impairment guidelines based on research. This position will also assist the Chief Medical Officer in didactic teaching activities for the Underwriters.
REQUIREMENTS
R.N. with 5+ years experience a plus or equivalent of 15+ years underwriting experience; FALU or similar coursework or industry designation; medical research and technical skills; EKG interpretation skills or willingness to learn; excellent communication skills.
