Compliance Specialist III

The Compliance Specialist is responsible for a wide variety of activities to audit, review, monitor, resolve and respond to regulatory requirements for the company's policies, products or services with state insurance departments. Ensures that policy forms and rates are in compliance with all states legal and regulatory requirements. Analyze new regulatory issues and requirements and implement required changes, distribute information internally, and refile forms and rates as appropriate with state authorities. Investigate complaints received from state regulators; compile background data, files and any other appropriate information; prepare response to regulatory authorities in a timely manner. Proactively seeks to remain in compliance by distributing information/change notices to various departments, internally audit and monitor activities. Most of these activities follow standard procedures and policies with more senior levels using greater latitude and judgment.



REQUIREMENTS
DUTIES:

Tasks are varied and mostly non-routine

Deviates from standard procedures to perform tasks.

Resolves complex questions and problems, refers most difficult to higher levels.

Revise forms and rates for compliance and file for state approval.

Prepare annual company reports required by state regulators.

Conduct investigation of state insurance department complaint, prepare response.



EXPERIENCE:

3-4 years of related experience in the function or similar activity outside the organization.

Advanced knowledge of company products and services.

Usually has Bachelors degree or equivalent.



SUPERVISION:

Works under minimal supervision.

May periodically assist in orienting, training, assigning and checking the work of lower level employees.



SKILLS:

Applies advanced problem solving skills.

Learns how to adapt procedures, processes and techniques to more complex problems and issues.
