Commercial Lines Underwriting Specialist
This position is responsible for managing one or more Commercial Property and/or Small Business lines for the Regional Companies of Agency Markets from an underwriting and product perspective. It requires extensive interaction with regional Underwriting staff, other functions within Agency Markets, and underwriting within other Liberty Mutual strategic business units. Responsibilities include product development and product maintenance; monitoring emerging issues; establishing underwriting guidelines and best practices; collaborating with regional staff to understand their issues and develop consistency where appropriate; guiding other functional areas to achieve organizational objectives; participating in underwriting audits; developing high competency underwriting skills for Commercial Property and Small Business lines; and special projects.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications include a BA/BS degree and a strong understanding of insurance contracts and the small commercial market, less than $15.0M in annual sales, and business owner's type of programs. CPCU and AU/API designations are strongly preferred. Also requires 10 years of progressive underwriting experience. Product Management/Development experience is preferred.
