Coding Specialist - Mass Affluent - (DW12683)

This position is the first link in the new business process and is responsible for the timely receipt, confirmation and entry of data from the life insurance application into the various New Business systems. Tasks include, but are not limited to: receiving applications from the field; assigning policy numbers to new cases; reviewing new business documents for completion and accuracy; reviewing forms for appropriate versions and state approvals; entering replacement data as needed; reviewing forms for proper signatures and cash with application guidelines; confirming appropriate agent licensing/appointment within appropriate state guidelines; entering new case data into the appropriate new business systems including, but not limited to, NuVent, Infront, WinRisk, and mainframe systems. Some field communication is involved using fax, phone and e-mail methods as appropriate.
High School education (required); college degree preferred. Knowledge of life insurance products and medical coding/terminology is a significant plus. LOMA 280 and 290 are desired or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire. Must be customer focused with the ability to organize time and work in order to achieve maximum productivity and meet department goals and deadlines. Candidate must be a self-starter, energetic, able to work in a fast-paced, metrics driven team environment, and must have the ability to adapt to change quickly with a positive attitude.
