Aon’s account and relationship managers form a comprehensive perspective of our clients’ organizations, matching our expertise to their business strategy.Currently, we have an exciting career opportunity for a Business Continuity Specialist in our Hatboro, PA office.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide support to management and business functional areas, as requested, when a business disruption occurs.Manage a schedule of routine BCM plan maintenance updates with each site BCM Manager/Coordinator and document results on a report distributed to ARSA senior management and the Aon Global BCM Team.Maintain periodic written and oral communications to site BCM Manager/Coordinator and senior management to keep overall process in clear view of the local operations and senior management group. The goal is to instill an operating culture which includes changes to the BCM program as the business evolves.Closely coordinate plan development and ongoing activities with Aon's Global Corporate BCM Team.Provide periodic advice and support to ARSA BCM managers/coordinators to assist in resolving program issues.Coordinates electronic access to the BCP's and procedures.Assess the current readiness of each ARSA business site to deal with a variety of potential crisis situations. The incumbent will fulfill these responsibilities for a selected number of small to moderate sized locations within the U.S.: This will be accomplished through the following:
Conduct a risk assessment to evaluate potential threats to business viability.
Evaluate current office BCM plans against generally agreed upon Aon standards.
Assess potential business impacts through development of a business impact analysis (BIA).
Identify and define critical and time sensitive functions.Document and Develop business continuity management (BCM) plans that address the following:
Emergency Action Plans (ERP)
Crisis Management Plans (CMP)
Business Continuity Plans (BCP)
Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP) (in conjunction with the Aon IT Risk Management Group)
Business Impact Analysis (BIA)Recommend recovery strategies and assist with the implementation of recovery solutions.Crisis management training and testing responsibilities:
Develop and present training programs for ARSA site crisis management committee members.
Oversee scheduling and management of exercises/testing process for ARSA business groups.
Present testing scenarios and schedule annual periodic exercises.
Manage tabletop and other exercise/testing process and report results to site and corporate management.Other duties as required to support the ARSA and Aon BCM efforts.SPECIAL SKILLS:
No supervisory/management responsibilities. Requires skills in: 1) training and facilitating group meetings, discussions and exercises to ensure team members understand their roles and responsibilities during an emergency or crisis situation; 2) excellent communication abilities (verbal and written) with all levels of the ARSA and Aon business management teams; 3) Knowledge of Technology (IT) is a plus; 4) position requires detailed oversight of many plan development and maintenance tasks at the same time, which requires above average organizational and project management skills. 5) must be a self starter and have ability to work independently in an overall team environment; 6) team focus - requires a team centric focus which will promote the BCM concept throughout ARSA office sites and the corporate (ARSA and Aon) team organizations. 7) Experience using LDRPS or other document repository system or Business Continuity Planning software is a plus.Approximately 33% travel within the U.S.MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experienceMINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
1 year experience in disaster recovery/business continuity related work;
