Position Title: Assistant Catastrophe Claims Manager

Job Summary:
Technically strong individual who, under limited direction, investigates and evaluates property claims of moderate to high value and complexity to prompt and equitable conclusions. Secures information, reviews coverage, retains experts as needed and settles claims. Utilizes various methods of investigation and negotiates settlement with claimants within prescribed limits and submits recommendations to supervisor on claims exceeding personal settlement authority. Hands-on working manager, provides file guidance, and may do the work of subordinates.

Coordinates the work activities of the unit and the field response to an event. Has responsibility for performance, development, and coaching of staff and field teams. May provide training to new members of the team/unit. Acts as technical & adminstrative resource for team. Implements field response plans and provides guidance/direction to field teams (internal and expert members).

Job Qualifications:
6 or more years of experience with commercial lines property claims, preferably with CAT experience.

Previous managerial or supervisory experience.

Advanced knowledge of claims and insurance legal and regulatory rules and guidelines.
