Allstate Foundation Domestic Violence Program - Public Relations

The position is located in Northbrook, IL The Corporate Relations department handles the internal (workforce) and external public relations communication effort on behalf of the Allstate Corporation. Functions in the department include communication strategy, corporate positioning and stakeholder relations, media relations, government affairs and issues management, corporate contributions, The Allstate Foundation, shareholder communications, executive support, and employee and agent communications. The Communications Manager will oversee the internal and external communications activities for The Allstate Foundation's Domestic Violence Program, including PR and media relations. This role will work closely with the Public Affairs Specialist at the program's partner organization and will also manage related vendor/contractor relationships. The individual will be responsible for: 1. Developing and implementing internal employee communication strategies to support and promote program activities. 2. Executing communications to support external program events. 3. Working with appropriate Corporate Relations contacts to incorporate domestic violence into executive positioning platforms and developing executive communications. 4. Assisting with leadership updates for the program's executive sponsor, Foundation Trustees and Grant Committee, and the Domestic Violence Program's Advisory Board and Integration Team. 5. Creating program collateral and communication tools and working with agency and internal media team to create external awareness of the program.

Advanced - Ability to collaborate and work across boundaries with a variety of internal and external stakeholders Experience Required: PR/marketing background (3-5 years experience), ideally with issues marketing and/or non-profit experience. Computer Proficiency: Microsoft Office suite of products including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project. Ability to conduct Internet-based research.
