Tech Support Level II Hardware/Network Technician
Solaris Healthcare, Decatur TX, is looking for an experienced, hands-on networking, hardware and technical support person.
Position: Network Tech, Level II
Description: This position will work under limited direction to implement and maintain new network installations and configuration, network security, LAN, WAN and WLAN support, and data backup and recovery, as well as application and system deployment and support to end users.
Applicants for this position should have 3-6 years of verifiable experience in similar roles.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Clear understanding of network architecture and operations, including TCP/IP, wireless networking, VPN and Windows and Novell server administration.
Working knowledge of various OS and applications including, but not limited to, Windows 2000/XP, and MS Office. Lotus Notes experience a plus.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills including the ability to support remote users.
Demonstrated technical expertise in computer and network component maintenance – gained either through formal education and training or 3-6 years equivalent service.
Must be able to work well with limited supervision to meet deadlines and complete assignments.
Must possess strong organization skills and be a fast learner.
Duties and Responsibilities: Focus on network design, installation, configuration and maintenance, as first and second level support (LAN/WAN/WLAN)
Assist end users with identifying and solving workstation, network and printer issues.
Verify function of automated backup systems
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with remote users
Maintain proper level of training to ensure any new technologies are properly installed and operating at maximum efficiency
Data backup and recovery as needed Occasional travel to other offices to provide support or system upgrades.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. REQUIREMENTS
Focus on network design, installation, configuration and maintenance (including running cable and installing/terminating new data drops)
First and second level support of all network issues (LAN/WAN/WLAN)
Assist end users with identifying and solving workstation, network and printer issues.
Verify function of automated backup systems Troubleshoot and resolve issues with remote users
Maintain proper level of training to ensure any new technologies are properly installed and operating at maximum efficiency
Data backup and recovery as needed Occasional travel to other offices to provide support or system upgrades.
