Street Sweeper Operator / Street Maintenance Worke

The City of Caldwell seeks qualified individuals to fill the positions of Street Maintenance Worker, Water Maintenance Worker and Meter Reader.
Street Maintenance Worker: Individual performs physical labor and operates a variety of equipment associated with the construction, repair and maintenance of the City's streets, curbs, sidewalks, street signs and drainage systems. Must possess good interpersonal skills and have the ability to effectively communicate with other City employees and the general public. Starting rate of pay is $10.07 per hour with full benefits.Water Maintenance Worker: Individual performs a variety of physical tasks and operates equipment associated with the maintenance and repair of the City's water distribution system. Must possess good interpersonal skills and have the ability to effectively communicate with other City employees and the general public. Starting rate of pay is $10.07 per hour with full benefits.Meter Reader: Individual reads water meters to record and report water usage ensuring correct water billing and performs maintenance on water meters and lines. Must possess good interperonal skills and have the ability to effectively communicate with other City employees and the general public. Starting rate of pay is $9.14 per hour with full benefits.

REQUIREMENTS


Street Maintenance Worker:Graduate from high school or possession of a GED; andSome experience in landscaping or the construction industry; orAny equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work.Must provide a current driving record from the Department of Motor Vehicles; andMust possess or have the ability to obtain a Class A CDL issued by the State of Idaho within 30 days of employment.

Water Maintenance Worker:Graduate from high school or possession of a GED; andSome experience in water distribution system construction, maintenance or repair; orAny equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work.Must possess or have the ability to obtain a Class A CDL and proper endorsements issued by the State of Idaho within 30 days of employment.Subject to after hours on-call status and residency within a 20-minute response area.

Meter Reader:Graduate from high school or possession of a GED; andSome experience performing construction activities; orAny equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perfrom the work.Must possess or have the ability to obtain a Class A CDL issues by the State of Idaho within 30 days of employment; andAbility to obtain a water distribution certification within one year of employment; andSubject to after hours on-call status and residency within a 20-minute response area.
