Senior Maintenance Electrician
Purpose: Our client located in Southwest San Antonio is looking to fill Senior Maintenance Electrician position immediately. This position is in a large aviation warehouse / production environment.
Job Description: Repairs, constructs, installs, troubleshoots, and maintains routine electrical systems and equipment Cuts, threads, bends, couples, and straps conduit. Cuts wire and conduit to length. Installs, repairs, or replaces switch boxes, light bulbs, plugs, sockets, light fuses, and extension cords. Disassembles motors, generators, and other equipment in preparation for repair. Troubleshoots electrical malfunctions, inspects circuits and wiring for shielding and grounding, and tests electrical equipment for safety and efficiency. Uses blueprints, drawings, layout, or other specifications, and electrical hand tools and voltage or-amperage measuring and recording devices.
Impact: Impact of work significant to assigned area. Erroneous work product would normally result in failure to achieve schedule, and potentially affect mission success.
Knowledge: Requires extensive knowledge in specialized functions. A wide and comprehensive acquaintance with, and understanding of, both general and specific aspects and the technical phases of the job and their practical application to complex problems and situations ordinarily encountered.
Supervision: Minimal supervision. Work may be done without established procedures. Leads and mentors others and lower level employees, may assign work and schedule work flow.
Minimums: Specialized training in specific aspects of job functions and/or demonstrated ability to perform assigned tasks, and 5 or more years of experience.
Typical Tasks: Usually works without established procedures, performing a wide variety of nonstandard complex tasks using advanced techniques and requiring extensive knowledge of discipline. Analyzes requirements for special projects and recommends methods and processes to accomplish. Conducts research and assists in investigational studies. Supports the design/development of new or modified equipment or methods/systems for improved performance through analysis and check-out. Evaluates and resolves calibrating and troubleshooting problems. Leads and mentors others and lower level employees, may assign work and schedule work flow.
This position is a contract-to-hire position. Guaranteed 40 hrs/week plus overtime.
