The Department of Building Services at VanderbiltUniversity is seeking a qualified Superintendent toreport to the Associate Director of General Services and manage both administrative and operationalactivities of second and third shift service supervisors and custodial workers. The Superintendent isresponsible for planning and prioritizing non-routine work; delegates assignments to supervisors and checks progress; routinely conducts service inspections for quality assurance; interacts with supply productsvendors and coordinates services of vendors; monitors and reviews supervisor purchase activities against the budget and is responsible for ordering new equipment; maintains regular contact with customers to coordinate work and seek feedback on quality of services; and oversees training needs of staff and makes hiring, terminating, and promotion recommendations.

Technical School required; college degree preferred. Minimum of five years of supervisory experience in the building services (custodial) field required. Workexperience at large facilities or organizations withmultiple buildings is strongly preferred. Multi taskmanagement, quality assurance and customer relations skills are essential for this position.
