The Plumber in the Alabama Army National Guard is a Soldier who performs and supervises the installation and repair of pipe systems, fixtures, and petroleum pipeline systems. The Plumber in the Guard is an integral member of our team, helping to install and repair vital infrastructure.
As a Soldier, you will be paid to train as a Plumber. You will learn valuable, real-world skills while earning benefits you won’t find in the private sector.
The Alabama Army National Guard is an elite group of warriors who dedicate a portion of their time to serving their nation. Guard members train part-time to be ready full-time, should their state or nation call them to serve.
Major Duties
Assists in installation and repair of pipe systems, plumbing fixtures, and equipmentReads and interprets drawings, plans, and specificationsConnects pipe sections using appropriate valves, couplings, reducers and other fittings by threading, bolting, soldering, and other established joining proceduresAssists in performance of combat engineer missionsDetermines layout and identifies types and quantities of materials requiredConducts inspection of plumbing facilities and ensures employment of proper safety procedures
