Operator Technician B

Business Unit: GE Infrastructure, EnergyFunction: OperationsResponsibilities: As an Operator Technician B for GE O&M (Operations & Maintenance), you will have hands-on responsibility to operate, start, stop and monitor equipment in a 265 MW combined cycle generating station. Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the facility during assigned shift. Startup and shutdown of plant equipment from the control room and/or locally.
Monitor and maintain all required data logs/records.
Maintains log of meter and gauge reading and records data such as water test results and quantity of fuel consumed.
Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks, inspections and troubleshooting as assigned.
Comply with all applicable environmental, health and safety policies.
Coordinate and direct activities of assigned operators.
Operates all plant equipment/systems within scope of responsibility.
Implement and maintain the Lockout-Tagout procedure; coordinate the safe release of plant equipment for maintenance activities.
Aggressively maintain a safe working environment to include good housekeeping practices of assigned work area.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED or Technical Training via military or technical school.
Minimum of three years experience in a combined cycle operating plant and/or marine engineering.
Minimum of one year experience utilizing a DCS in the operations of a power generating facility.Desired: Minimum of two years experience in a combined cycle operating plant with GE Gas and Steam Turbines.
Minimum of two years experience with machinery repair and control systems.
Boiler Operator License desired.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to stand/walk for up to 12 hours continuously.
Ability to climb ladders and stairs.General: This position is located in Rumford, Maine. No relocation will be provided.
