CCNA or CCNP certification is helpful for these positions
Network Operations Data/Core Technician - 12 IP/router technicians
Responsibilities:
Desire to work in a fast paced, technology driven environment. Ability to perform multiple functions while operating in a highly visible maintenance capacity 24x7x365. Primary functions include fault management, recognizing and responding to network problems, performing triage, analysis and maintenance on the Network, while working in a coordinated effort with internal and external groups such as Field, MSC & Data Operations, Engineering, and Vendor Technical Support Teams. Communicate and coordinate maintenance activities to the Field, MSC, National Node and Data Operation teams via dispatch with the Remedy Action Management System. Track, resolve, and report on Network Incidents through the implementation of Wireless Network Services Incident Management Plan.
Responsibilities: Provides 2nd and 3rd Tier support, coordinating timely resolution of problems related to computing hardware and software. Involves consulting with clients, hardware and software vendors, application programmers and the networking (WAN/LAN) support groups. Includes direct technical support for all products delivered in this 7x24 hour environment. Responsible for monitoring and responding to technical hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of testing tools and techniques for desktop, servers, LAN/WAN, voice or video networks. Performs capacity planning, system administration, system tuning, problem analysis and hardware/software upgrades. May install and configure workstations, servers, printers, and data, voice or video network components. Performs testing and establishes system acceptance criteria on current and new hardware and software. Develops local administrative policies and procedures to ensure database and system integrity.
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of telecommunications experience, preferably 2-3 years in Wireless Network Data Operations supporting technology currently deployed in the network. Technical knowledge of Digital Data Switching Transport Systems to include at least one or any of the following:
Technical Knowledge of routed networks including TCP/IP, LAN/WAN Frame Relay/ATM Networks, Cisco/Juniper Routers/Switches, Firewalls, and DNS. Proficiency with UNIX based Platforms and applications required. A certificate in any or many of the above skills is a plus. Knowledge of GPRS, Voicemail Systems, Signaling Networks, and HLRs is a plus. Personal Computing skills also required.
Must be able to navigate thru Cisco IOS.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical issues, both orally and written, are required. Must be a dedicated team player committed to excellence. Associates Degree in Electronic Technology or Telecommunications equivalent experience desired.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Computer Science a plus.
Shift: TBD, but will be one of the following:
Sun-Tue 6a-6p & Wed 6a-12p (front days)
Wed 12p-6p & Thur-Sat 6a-6p (back days)
Sun-Mon-Tues and every other Sat 6p-6a (front nights)
Wed-Thur-Fri and every other Sat 6p-6a (back nights)
