NETWORK OPS TECH II

Fully experienced non-exempt role. Performs a variety of skilled routine and non-routine duties. Applies standard practices and policies.



Focuses on the overall operations of the network, including network performance, installation, and/or maintenance. Conducts routine network operations activities, including translations and other duties involved with the preparation needed prior to installation or the tracking and analysis of network elements.



The Network Ops Tech II provides proactive and reactive network surveillance, troubleshooting, coordination and restoration of service affecting or potentially affecting network events/issues. The tech also provides technical assistance to field maintenance personnel, trouble tracking, coordination, notification, escalation, and documentation to resolve events/issues efficiently minimizing customer impact. The tech will accomplish prime objectives under the direction and guidance of a more experienced network controller or supervisor. Candidate must have the ability to be effective in a stressful environment. JOB REQUIREMENTS


1. Combination of education and relevant experience totaling 3 years post high school or equivalent.

2. Basic computer skills.

3. Good oral and written communications skills.

4. Ability to exercise flexibility and resourcefulness (with assistance from others) in challenging and/or perplexing situations.

5. Possess good basic organizational skills.

6. Telecommunications experience

7. Knowledge of Tier 1 maintenance transmission systems

8. Ability to work in a 24X7 control center
