Mechinist Technician

Candidate will set-up and operate conventional mills, lathes and other equipment to support prototype efforts and/or modification to production hardware; Responsible for manufacturing parts per blueprints; Inspection of parts as required to maintain blueprint requirements. This position also supports assembly of both prototype and production assemblies as required.
REQUIREMENTS
. High School diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of 3+ years applicable experience
. Knowledge of manual machines such as engine lathes and manual mills
. orking knowledge of various inspection equipments (micrometers, calipers, height gages)
. Ability to perform basic or complex set ups, operates lathes, mills, or other machine tools to fabricate and/or modify existing parts.
. Uses and operates a variety of hand tools, electrical and mechanical equipment as required.
. Builds, fabricates, or repairs components and/or miscellaneous articles from verbal instructions, blueprints and/or working drawings.
. Modifies and adjusts metal parts for special projects.
Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned (i.e. short run assemblies).
. Ability to operate machines, lathes, drills, and other related equipment to fabricate parts.
. Ability to perform standard shop computations, read schematics, engineering drawings, and technical manuals.
. Ability to assemble, repair, and modify fixtures.
. Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
