The prime function of the Mechanic is to carry out preventive maintenance and repairs of rental equipment to ensure that it is received in good working order by the next rental customer. The equipment to be serviced may range from small engine-powered equipment to heavy diesel-powered equipment, depending on the needs of the location and the skill level of the employee.


Position Responsibilities:

Service equipment as required to ensure proper working condition when leaving the shop or at the customer site
Fabricate parts and equipment as required to meet repair needs
Perform safety inspections on equipmentConduct preventive maintenance to avoid unnecessary repairs and down time on the customer job
Maintain a clean work area as necessary to maintain a safe work environment
Meet all company, governmental and equipment related safety requirements
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

REQUIREMENTS
1 -2 years experience with similar equipment


Some Trade School desirable


Other requirements for Qualified applicants:

Must own and be able to safely and effectively use hand tools and equipment
Must be able to comunicate equipment issues and understand job assignments
Experience with diesel and/or gasoline engine repair
Electrical systems experience a plus
Hydraulic systems experience a plus
Possess good written and verbal communication skills
Be able to prioritize work assignmentsAbility to trouble shoot equipment problemsExhibit personal and professional integrity
Exhibit a clear understanding of the necessity of equipment safety
Must be flexible regarding work assignments
Possess a high level of safety consciousness
Working knowledge of individual equipment design and safety requirements
