Maintenance Mechanic B

Intervet, Inc. has immediate job openings in our De Soto, KS facility which is located just 30 minutes from downtown Kansas City.This position is responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment used in the production and packaging of vaccines. The incumbent will perform general maintenance and mechanical and electrical troubleshooting of all equipment within the plant and facility. The incumbent will also be responsible for preventative maintenance, installation, service and repair of HVAC systems, electrical equipment and devices throughout the plant. Knowledge of boilers, air compressors, plumbing and other mechanical skills required. Must be available to cover 24 hour emergency on-call in scheduled rotation. This is a second shift position.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualified applicants must have a high school diploma or GED. Good mechanical experience in different functions of steam, different pressure and temperatures in water systems. Good working knowledge of one or more of the following trades: electrical, HVAC/R, mechanical, plumbing, instrumentation/controls, or construction. Must be able to work well with others. Good memory skills as far as equipment location, type of belts, filters required for repair, etc. Must be dependable and able to learn new skills. Must have a valid driver's license.
