Maintenance Manager

The Judge Group, INC. is currently in search of a Degreed Maintenance
Manager for a Large Food/Beverage Manufacturing Facility located in
Northern CA.
DESCRIPTION
The role of the Maintenance Manager is to improve work force productivity,
safety, and ensure equipment reliability by managing the assigned
supervisory and craft personnel within the Maintenance Department. The
Maintenance Manager works closely with the Electrical, Engineering and
Plant Application Support staff to insure all departments are aware and
have input of major work in progress. He/she also works closely with the
production staff (i.e.) Process, Warehousing, Engineering, and Packaging
Managers. This position is responsible to execute all planned and unplanned
maintenance activities within the. The incumbent is responsible for
operational maintenance including, general mechanical/metal crafts, belt
shop, bulk raw facilities, building and grounds, machine shop, packaging,
warehouse, and electrical and instrumentation.Responsibilities and Duties:
The Maintenance Manager executes all work scheduled by the maintenance
planning department and completes planned and unplanned work in the most
efficient manner possible. Duties include:
• Implements a plant-wide area maintenance program including planned and
unscheduled maintenance.
• Implements an effective safety program in conjunction with company and
departmental safety programs.
• Participates actively in management’s Sanitation programs.
• Trains and directs the work of the Maintenance Superintendents, and
Maintenance Supervisors under his/her responsibility. Assists as necessary
and appraises their performance on a regular basis.
• Analyzes needs and recommends annual operating budget. Ensures that
maintenance activities are performed within the approved budget.
• Administers all personnel functions in regard to supervisors and craft
workers under his/her direction.
• Analyzes and recommends changes in craft and supervisory strengths as
needed for a more efficient operation.
• Provides intensive field supervision of performance of supervisors and
craft workers under his/her supervision.
• Upgrades and provides supervised training for Millwright groups.
• Keeps abreast of Maintenance needs and maintains budget control of
manpower usage and meets schedule completion
• Reviews construction plans and designs with Engineers to determine
completeness prior to release for construction.
• Recommends training for all supervisors and crafts within his/her
responsibilities.REQUIREMENTS
The Maintenance Manager must have a through understanding of engineering
and maintenance design to insure the facility operates at capacity. The
incumbent must have the analytical skills to determine root cause of
problems and make recommendations to eliminate problems. The Maintenance
Manager must be able to motivate employees and ensure that they work
safely.
The Maintenance Manager must have a strong mechanical background, a four
year degree in engineering and have at least 7-10 years of supervisory
experience in maintenance related activities. He/she must have a background
in project management and implementation experience. He/she must have
experience in working with working to standards governed by OSHA, FDA, AIB,
HACCP, and GMP.The Maintenance Manager must be able to communicate and work with people.
Proficiency requires communication skills, administrative skills, and human
relations skills.The Maintenance Manager must be proficient at use of Microsoft Excel, and
Word and experience with a computerized maintenance management system (i.e.
Maximo, SAP, etc.) would be a plus.Experience with Six-Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing concepts also a

Qualified Candidates for the Maintenance Manager position MUST HAVE at
least a 4-year BS/BA Degree with at least 5-10 years of previous
Maintenance Management experience from within either a Food/Beverage
Manufacturing Facility or a CPG/Consumer Goods Manufacturer. Candidates
also MUST HAVE experience with either Six-Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing
Concepts. Candidates with a Very Strong Manufacturing background and an in
depth knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing will also be
