Level 2 CO Installer

Purpose: TEKsystems and a large Cable company are searching for 2 qualified Level 2 Central Office Installers to work on a 3 to 4 week project.

These technicians will be working with two additional installers (one Level 4 Installer and one Level Three Installer) as well as an internal Engineering, Furnishing and Installation team from TEKsystems.

PROJECT DUTIES:

Install, terminate and test DC power at the equipment and BDFB.

Install and terminate ground cables to all equipment cabinets, equipment and cable rack.

Install cat 5 patch cables.

Install ladder rack and associated iron work to support the rack.

Install cabinets in a cement floor with seismic anchors.

Install ADC 4? fiber trough.

Install different types of equipment in the cabinets and power it up. No provisioning required on the equipment.

Install fiber optic cable from patch panel to patch panel.

Label all cabinets and cables to industry standards.

All power and ground cables will be laced with 9 cord.

Work with blue prints and rack layout diagrams.

Installer will supply their own hand tools screw drivers, socket set etc.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 1-1/2 years experience adding or removing common systems equipment and power / signal cabling. Demonstrates proficiency in power / signal cable wiring and connecting as well as load and continuity testing. Must be directly supervised by Level 3 or 4 technicians while interfacing with working equipment.

This technician should have experience in performing equipment Installations in Central Offices or in Head Ends, cable pulling, punchdowns, etc.

This job will take approximately 3 weeks with a possible extension.
