Installer I (commissioned) (11231)

BASIC PURPOSE
To learn and perform installations providing cable television, broadband and voice service to the subscriber’s home.


MAJOR DUTIES
Performs customer connections, upgrades, downgrades, re-wires and disconnections of video, broadband and voice services.

Installs drops (aerial or underground) as well as the requested number of outlets within the individual subscriber’s home/apartment/business.

Installs customer premise equipment in homes/apartments/business and sells additional services and/or products to subscribers at time of installation.

Reviews, completes to specification the customer’s work orders to insure proper services requested are completed. Assures all paperwork is properly and accurately completed.

Also assures that video/broadband/ voice service is working within require specifications on all outlets. All customer owned equipment is properly connected and functioning.

Customers are educated on proper use of all customer premise equipment in conjunction with customer owned equipment.

Responsible for insuring that company vehicle is maintained and well stocked with the necessary materials/proper tools.

Responsible for the collection of required deposits for customer’s installation fees and other required monies.

Work schedule will include various hours, days, shifts and after-hour call.

Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Previous electronic experience or course work, and customer service experience is preferred.

Special Skills/Knowledge/Abilities Required:
Skills include: driving full size vehicle, lifting and carrying equipment, pole climbing, ladder climbing, working from ladder or climbers, demonstrated proficiency in the use of various tools and equipment. Basic PC skills preferred. Must have good verbal, written and interpersonal communications. Mechanical aptitude, general knowledge of map reading and basic math. Knowledge of safety rules and procedures, and First Aid and CPR preferred. Ability to organize materials, tools, and equipment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Repetitive lifting of weights of up to 70 lbs both from floor to shoulder and from shoulder up. Use of construction equipment requiring exertion of up to 50 lbs. of force. Repetitive crawling, stooping, reaching, pushing, twisting, pulling, pole climbing, digging, and ladder climbing.

ENVIRONMENT:
exposure to heights, heat, cold, weather conditions, various living environments and foliage. Day and night work. Work alone or as team. Works with various solvents and greases. Works under stress.

Must have a valid Florida driver’s license and good driving record.
